Mr Ismail is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in both knee surgery and hip surgery. He specialises in all aspects of knee surgery including sports injuries. His particular clinical and research interests include arthroscopic surgery, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, multiple knee ligament injuries, osteotomies, unicompartmental knee replacements, complex knee replacements (including correction of severe deformities) and revision knee replacement. He is also experienced in hip surgery consisting of primary and revision hip replacements and hip arthroscopic surgery. He is presently involved in promoting short-stay hip and knee replacements by minimally-invasive surgery and new techniques of pain control and rehabilitation.
